Why Senator Akpabio best qualifies for next Senate Presidency – by SEMPG) President

The president of South East Media Professional Group (SEMPG) Mr. Emenike Jason Iroegbu, has disclosed why his group considered Senator-elect of Akwa Ibom state, Hon Godswiil Obot Akpabio as the best suitable for the next senate presidency among others of southern Nigeria extraction

Emenike who addressed journalists yesterday in Umuahia, Abia state capital after he returned from the SEMPG meeting held at Enugu, Enugu state, said that senator Akpabio a former Akwa Ibom state governor, has not only
” distinguished himself with his excellence-driven mindset, good relationship management skills, political friendship from all the regiond and his passion for Nigeria”.

He however said that other aspiring senators-elect of the south whose names he did not mention, are also qualified for the senate president position,

According to the SEMPG president, “Senator Akpabio has the legislative skill and has proven beyond all reasonable doubt that he is loyal to the All Progressive Congress (APC) by stepping down for the President-Elect, senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the party primaries.

“Akpabio is versatile, has great legislative acumen, built political bridges all over Nigeria and his passion for Nigeria is topnotch adding that the uncommon transformation of Akwa Ibom state was made by him and predicted that his presidency of the next senate, will change the trajectory positively from the National Assembly to Nigeria”

Stating that SEMPG will not support any senate president candidate from the South East, not because they are not qualified, “but because we need an all-round Nigerian like Senator Akpabio to take that position and unify Nigeria more” he opined.

He also disclosed that SEMPG had during its said Enugu leadership meeting, endorsed Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio for Senate President and serving member of the House of Representatives for Bende Constituency in Abia state Honorable Benjamin Kalu for Deputy Speaker for the next House of Representatives.
